Acupressure

How does acupressure work?

The pressure is applied to specific points along the body. When the points are stimulated, they will unlock the stagnation, increase blood flow, and release knots and sore muscles in the body. It will also help reduce inflammation and pain instantly while releasing endorphins. Endorphins are known as the 'feel good' neurotransmitters of the body and are part on the body's way to alleviate pain. When released, endorphins interact with receptors to reduce pain, anxiety, and stress while providing a sense of calm and relaxation.
Acupressure is designed to use with or without acupuncture treatment. In other words, for someone who is not familiar with needle, it is the best way for alternative treatment.

Have you ever heard the word "Tui-Na"?

Tui-Na is cross between acupressure and Shiatsu. Tui-Na therapy uses rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body together with manipulation techniques at acupressure points to elicit self-healing.
Tui-na is not generally used for pleasure and relaxation, but rather as a treatment to address specific patterns of disharmony. As such, practitioners use it for many of the same reasons and according to the same principles as acupuncture. Like acupuncture, Tui-Na is used to harmonize yin and yang in the body by manipulating the Qi in the acupuncture channels.

When is Tui-Na used?

It is frequently used in the treatment of superficial trauma, injury, acute/chronic pain, and a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. Tui Na can also relive stress disorders like insomnia, constipation and headaches.
Tui na is also often used when acupuncture is inappropriate, such as with children, when it is referred to as "Chinese pediatric massage therapy".
